Music theory
Music theory sessions provide learning opportunities focused on the fundamental concepts of music, uch as notes, scales, chords, and rhythm. Offered both online and in person, these
sessions are tailored to suit all skill levels, from complete beginners to those preparing for
advanced exams.
They often include practical exercises and musical examples to reinforce
understanding and application. For beginners, combining traditional instruction with modern tools can significantly accelerate progress and deepen musical insight.

Returning to playing and improving technique
Experienced players can benefit from refining their skills,
exploring new repertoire, and enhancing their musical
expression. Lessons can be customised to individual goals, whether it's preparing for performance opportunities,
improving technique, or simply enjoying playing.

Tutoring Prices
30 minutes
A 30 minute lesson will cover skills like posture, breathing, embouchure, and articulation. It may also include working on scales, melodies, and music theory. Focusing on individual needs and practicing these elements consistently is key to progress. The lesson will ends with a review and clear practice goals to guide the student’s progress between lessons.

60 minutes
A 60-minute lesson includes a warm-up with long tones, scales, and articulation exercises, Technical studies to build finger dexterity and control. Rrepertoire, solo pieces, ensemble parts, or school music—addressing tone, rhythm, and expression. Sight-reading or ear training can be included to build broader musicianship skills. The lesson will ends with a review and clear practice goals to guide the student’s progress between lessons.

Exam practice
A exam practice lesson typically includes a warm-up with tone and technique exercises, focused work on required scales and arpeggios, and detailed practice of exam repertoire with attention to accuracy and musicality. It also covers sight-reading and aural training specific to the exam level, and mock exam run-throughs or accompaniment practice.
